Law Enforcement Coordination Specialist

This Law Enforcement Coordination Specialist serves as the Manager of the Districts Law Enforcement Coordination (LEC) Program. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Law Enforcement Coordination Specialist support in the Criminal Division, U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York, located in Brooklyn, New York, focusing in the areas of building or promoting community engagement as part of Department of Justice initiatives, law enforcement priorities, and crime prevention opportunities. Typical work assignments will include:
Develop and maintain professional contacts to best accomplish the goals of the Department of Justice and the District. Partake in the planning and implementation of other district programs and initiatives such as Operation Weed and Seed, Drug Demand Reduction, Project Safe Neighborhoods, etc. Analyze issues and recommend solutions to the U.S. Attorney on LEC matters. Qualifications:
To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
GS-11:
A. Have at least one full-time year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level that prepared you to do the work of this job. This experience is defined as:
1) Analyzing data from a variety of sources to identify and recommend solutions to a wide range of law enforcement issues; 2) Coordinating the presentation of conferences and training programs that address law enforcement needs in the area; 3) Leading projects involving the community and local law enforcement; AND 4) Outline operating practices to improve efficiency or effectiveness.(Note:
This experience must be demonstrated on your resume.) OR B. Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work of the position. Examples include such fields as personnel management, industrial relations, public administration, management, business administration, or labor relations. Possess a combination of the specialized experience as described in A above and graduate education as described in B above, such that they total 100% of the stated minimum qualifications for this specialty and grade. Only graduate education in excess of the first 36 semester hours may be used when combining education and experience for this specialty and grade. NOTE:

1) Analyzing data from a variety of sources to identify and recommend solutions to a wide range of law enforcement issues; 2) Designing and presenting large conferences and training programs that address law enforcement needs in the area; 3) Managing projects involving the community and local law enforcement; AND 4) Formulating and establishing operation task forces to address specific law enforcement issues.(Note:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
