POSITION: Community Outreach Coordinator


PAY: $15/hr.

DURATION: 5 months

HOURS: 8am-4:30pm (some weekends and evenings)

The Community Outreach Coordinator shall be a dynamic ambassador to the school, actively raising awareness of mission to ensure organizational presence and prominence in the local community and amongst wider educational, charter school and youth advocacy groups. The Community Outreach Coordinator will act as a key liaison for providing organizational information to outside agencies, prospective students and their families. This position reports to the Managing Director of Youth Engagement & Partnerships.

Gain a firm understanding of mission, student recruitment policy and other policies where necessary.
Keep up-to-date with language and approach in describing mission.
Attend conferences and ably speak on panels to represent the school in the local and wider community.
Articulate principles of mission clearly and at an appropriate level to audience.
Help to raise the positive profile of the school by promoting its values and raising awareness of its approach.
Actively promote student recruitment to outside agencies, prospective students and families.
Work in high-gear to meet individual and organizational objectives.
Obtain and record meaningful and required information to document work.
Record data in a legible format and communicate time-sensitive findings in a timely manner.
Performs other related duties as required.
Models nondiscriminatory practices and possesses well-developed decision making skills.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Bilingual Spanish a plus.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
