Low Cost, Culinary Arts Certificate Training Program: at Kingsborough Community College provides students with hands-on training in Food Preparation while receiving the skills to earn state and nationally recognized certificates and credentials in Food Safety and Food Production.
Students will be introduced to the various components of the Food Service Industry, including fundamental cooking terminology, techniques and theories all while learning by professional industry chefs in our state of the art demonstration kitchens.
Participants who successfully complete this program will earn NRAEF Servsafe, NYC Department of Health Food Handlers Certificate and the Food Safety and Sanitation Certification. Credits earned can be applied to a Culinary Arts A.A.S. (Associate in Applied Science).
All students will receive:
-Training that will prepare them for employment in the field of food service or culinary arts.
-Employment readiness services and job placement assistance.
-Career counseling, college advisement and academic support.
-Opportunity to bank up to 9 college credits, applicable towards an Associate of Applied Science in Tourism and Hospitality or Culinary Arts at Kingsborough Community College.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
