Medical Biller - Financial Services Clerk

A healthcare network in New York City is actively seeking an organized and analytical professional to join their staff as their new Medical Biller.
In this role, the Medical Biller will be responsible for capturing charges for billing.
ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Biller:
Interviews office patients to obtain insurance information, ensuring accuracy, and completeness of data Prepares charges for posting Reconciles kept appointment lists against encounter forms Encounters include outpatient office visit, infusion, laboratory, and inpatient consults Researches all information needed to complete billing process Works with providers to complete forms as necessary Maintains accurate and up-to-date demographic and billing information on all patient accounts Assigns ICD9 and CPT code for each procedure and service performed by Hematology/Oncology clinicians Reviews details of coverage to ensure proper billing Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Successful completion of a billing program, including ICD 9 and CPT coding 2
years of billing experience Knowledge of third party payor Knowledge of medical terminology Ability to type 45 WPM Computer literate Desired skills Oncology billing knowledge AHS System experience Recommended Skills Billing Cpt Coding Computer Literacy Hematology Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator Medical Terminology Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
