Maintenance Supervisor 1

Under the supervision of a higher-level Manager, the incumbent will supervise and provide support to Shirley Chisholm State Parks maintenance staff, the incumbent will also provide technical assistance to the parks Trade Generalists engaged in electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, plastering, masonry, and plumbing trades as well as grounds keeping, and housekeeping activities as assigned. Duties will include but are not limited to:
o Understanding and reviewing work orders, blueprints, and specifications for repairs. o Installation and construction to determine labor needs, materials and costs needed to complete projects; assisting staff and meeting with outside contractors as needed and providing clear direction to assure timely and cost-effective completion of projects. o Inspecting work to ensure compliance with project specifications. o Assist in preparing the scope of work and managing preventive maintenance schedules. o preparing and maintaining written records of work performed and completed along with letter orders, requisitions, vouchers, invoices and receiving reports. o assist in purchasing / scheduling / supervising staff and work priorities to ensure operational needs are met; evaluating staff performance and providing direction and counseling to staff as needed. o The incumbent is a working supervisor working in all fields to insure successful operation of daily park duties.

Salary Range:
From $25.52 to $25.52 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
Non-competitive:
one year of trade experience subsequent to the completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience such as that required for a Trades Specialist (Carpenter), Trades Specialist (Electrician), Service & Repair Mechanic (Electronics), Trades Generalist, Grounds Construction Supervisor, Trades Specialist (Locksmith), Trades Specialist (Machinist), Trades Specialist (Mason & Plasterer), Service & Repair Mechanic (Motor Equipment), Trades Specialist (Painter), Trades Specialist (Plumber & Steamfitter), Service & Repair Mechanic (HVAC-R), Trades Specialist (Roofing), or Trades Specialist (Welder).Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
