Facility Operations Assistant 1

oAct as the initial point of contact for staff and visitors entering The Brooklyn DDSO Business office. oAnswer phones and emails on behalf of the Brooklyn DDSO Business Office and Transportation Units. oReceive and sort incoming mail on behalf of Brooklyn DDSO. oDirect guests and vendors to locations within the building as requested by the Brooklyn DDSO Business Office. oMake assessments and decisions about guest and vendor needs in-order to direct them appropriately. oMaintain a reliable and professional demeanor at all times. oAssist with maintaining a clean and sanitary environment as required by building policy. oPerform office-related activities such as filing, alphabetizing, photocopying, sorting and delivering mail, storing records or supplies on shelves, bins and/or on the floor. Incumbent will also need to be able to learn to utilize use computer systems such as Excel, SFS, etc and assist with related business office activities. Will assist with Acumatica related needs, reconcile purchasing cards in the SFS system, assist with monitoring the Business Office Shared Mailbox where all purchase requests are emailed, assist with maintaining the Business Office Purchase Request Tracker (File Share Microsoft Excel Program), assist with maintaining Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to be able to request Refunds of Appropriations for cable bills & funeral expenses, assist with maintaining Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for monthly food & non-food purchases, and maintain and update file records. oMay be needed to inspect, check, and patrol areas to detect vandalism or non-adherence to safety procedures, report defects, possible hazards or potentially dangerous conditions in the building and adjacent areas. oDirect patrons to designated parking areas and/or specific parking spots or locations; direct persons or vehicles not authorized to use the parking facilities to alternate locations; inspects vehicles for current and correct parking permits; assure that cars are parked in the correct area and not in reserved or handicapped spaces; and keep records of vehicles for which parking privileges have been suspended or revoked and controls access to parking areas accordingly and assist with transportation related clerical issues. oMay travel to other offices within the State or facility to pick-up or move equipment, supplies or persons. This item will be involved in at least monthly transfers and distribution of PPE within OPWDD regions 5 and 6. oMove heavy supplies and equipment (PPE) oLoad and unload heavy equipment, supplies (PPE) and furniture from trucks by physically lifting items or operating a hand truck or forklift. oMove items to and from storerooms and/or warehouses. May maintain storage areas. Conduct inventory. oAssist truck drivers and motor vehicle operators in picking up and delivering PPE items. oDeliver forms and supplies to various offices. oAssist in the receiving and shipping of various office materials.

Salary Range:
From $33157 to $41018 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Non-competitive:
Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions Incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
