Job Description JOB PURPOSE The Program Manager's primary function is the head of the classroom during core educational teaching duties hours ensuring developmentally appropriate curriculum (Creative Curriculum) as well as divvying out classroom related work to the Assistant Teacher and Teacher Aide.
Other duties outside of the core educational hours will include administrative functions paramount to the effective and smooth operations of the particular location.
The Program Manager must be certified and available to work between the hours of 8 AM and 6 PM.
SCOPE OF INFLUENCE Assist in the direction of a class of students (maybe mixed age) through daily activities; communicates with families about children's progress and work Supports in several different areas in center including administrative duties and functions in collaboration with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Program Director KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Educational Support (70%) Lead with instruction, behavior management, classroom organization Supporting classroom assistants and aides in the development and implementation of teaching curriculum Create lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate to specific age groups according to the Creative Curriculum Collect and evaluate academic and data to pinpoint children's needs Collaborate with classroom teachers, director and Director of Curriculum and Instruction to resolve challenges and implement instructional improvements driven by quantitative and qualitative data Proactively seek and implement feedback from team leaders and instructional coaches to improve their practice Classroom teacher when children count is below forty Administrative Duties (20%) Receiving of all Amazon/ Lakeshore shipments Receives, signs off on and sends all invoices for processing to Account Payable Coordinator Ensure all required classroom documentation and record keeping is completed in a timely such as classroom monitoring checklist, health and safety checklist, staff, lounge, office cleaning checklist and any other center checklist required.
Supervision of center staff when Director not on premises Other (10%) Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications NYS Professional or Permanent ECE Certification B-2, Valid NYS Permanent or Professional Certification N-6, Professional or Permanent Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Grades 1-6 Master's in Early Childhood Education or related field Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and any and all external systems related to DOE, NYCHA and DOHMH systems Additional Information PRE- EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to pass Comprehensive Background Clearance through Department of Health and Mental Hygiene- Identogo and/or Department of Education Fingerprinting Screening, NYS Central Registry, Sex Offender Registry clearance, SEL check, three (3) reference checks, physical examination with updated TB test, varicella, tdap, MMR (fees may apply).
Obtain Mandated Reporter training certificate (every two (2) years) and other Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Head Start Performance Standard training requirements.
If hired, Brooklyn Kindergarten Society requires all potential employees to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
