Teachers 2, 3, and 4, under general supervision and with considerable independence of judgment and action, teach elementary, secondary, or special subjects. The duties include preparing course and unit outlines, lesson plans, educational progress reports, individual education plans, and acting as advisor to student groups and organizations. Requirements for Continued Employment:
Possession of a permanent/professional or provisional/ initial New York State certificate in Students with Disabilities/Special Education is necessary for continued employment. Loss of certification will result in termination of employment. Medicaid/Medicare Requirements:
In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program). Salary Range:
From $46529 to $73813 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Possess the appropriate certification necessary for appointment. Teacher 2:
Current New York State Education Department provisional/initial certification in classroom teaching in Students with Disabilities/Special Education, or current comparable Emergency COVID-19 certificate. Teacher 3:
Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in Students with Disabilities/Special Education, or current comparable Emergency COVID-19 certificate. Teacher 4:
Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in Students with Disabilities/Special Education, or current comparable Emergency COVID-19 certificate AND two years of post-certification (provisional/initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty. COVID-19 Certifications:
Applicants who qualify with the COVID-19 certificate must obtain their initial or professional certificate to remain employed. Not having an initial or professional certificate after the expiration of your COVID-19 certificate will be considered a loss of certification and will result in termination of employment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
