As a Chief Housekeeper 2, you would direct the operation and administration of a facility's housekeeping department and may be responsible for the distribution of facility laundry both to and from a consolidated laundry. You would be responsible for the cleaning and sanitation programs for all buildings at a multi-unit facility, including the supervision of a large cleaning staff; plan and schedule staff assignments; recommend changes in work routines, cleaning methods, and equipment; work with the clinical team to ensure that appropriate infection control practices are maintained; inspect buildings to ensure compliance with established cleaning programs; and supervise an inventory system to ensure that proper cleaning materials and supplies are in sufficient quantity.

Candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list for the title; OR Transfer Opportunity:
Candidates must be permanent in this title and eligible for lateral transfer; OR in a comparable title and eligible for 70.1 transfer. In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Chief Housekeeper 2 at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position's minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met. The promotion field for the Chief Housekeeper 2 position consists of candidates who have one year of permanent service as a Chief Housekeeper 1 or Head Housekeeper or two years of permanent service as a Supervising Housekeeper.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
