Description
Incumbents are responsible for performing and verifying mutual fund accounting processing in accordance with department policies and procedures. The Operation Accountant II is responsible for monitoring data exchanges with Portfolio Management, Transfer Agency, Custody and Pricing Services to ensure that all required data and transactions are received on a timely basis. The Operation Accountant II is also responsible for identifying and resolving any issues that affect the accuracy of the Fund's records. In addition, the Operation Accountant II is responsible for completion of reconciliations that assist the Treasury Group in determining accurate Fund net assets and net asset value (price). This position will be required to perform these responsibilities on more complex funds and transactions.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have: Bachelor's degree plus 1 year related experience. Associates degree years plus 3 years related experience. 5 years related experience. Must have some knowledge of the mutual fund industry or mutual fund accounting experience. Excellent verbal communication required. PC knowledge a must.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
