POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Health and Safety functions, and related procedures and policies of the organization.
Primary functions are to: (1) Provide technical safety and health support to production and corporate personnel, (2) develop corporate safety and health programs and objectives and coordinate safety training programs, (3) monitor safety and health regulations and provide technical support to plant and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with Federal and State safety and health regulations, (4) training.

Identify company safety training needs and develop and coordinate safety training programs according to OSHA standards.

Develop annual company safety and health goals

Prepare written safety and health programs and policies.

Participate in new product/process reviews including process hazard analyses, Operator Training, etc.

Support corporate/plant engineering to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.

Support plant personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.

Maintain corporate safety library (e.g. videos, regulations, reference manuals).

Promote safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, and specific training programs.

Serve as leader of Executive Safety Committee.

Review process operating procedures records and provide input for safety and health considerations

Assist as necessary in implementation of Hazard Communication program and preparation of reports.

Understand Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations and monitor regulatory changes (through Federal Register, OSHA etc.) as they occur.

Advise manufacturing plants and corporate staff of regulatory changes with which the plants must comply. Sufficient advance notice should be provided so that compliance on the effective date of new regulations is assured

Technical support to corporate and plant personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations

Periodically audit practices and records of manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with company programs and Federal/State occupational safety and health regulations

Monitor lost-time injuries/illnesses and Worker's Compensation Claims

Review plant safety committee meeting minutes and safety inspection reports

Review injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follow-up as necessary

Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Amount of Travel Required:
30%-50%

Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related fields

OSHA 30 Hours certificate and other safety related certificates

Minimum 2 years in Safety role. Manufacturing preferred.

Minimum 3 years in ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
